Species Description
Plants deep red, usually 6-20 cm tall, attached by small disc like bases. Branching is dichotomous. Terminal blades mostly 5 -10 mm wide with broad rounded tips. Cystocarpic (female) plants have sori running down the center of blade resembling 'interrupted' midrib. Spermatangial (male) plants with large irregularly shaped sori. Formerly Stenogramme interrupta.
Species Habitat
Frequent, found growing on rocks.
Species Range
Low intertidal and subtidal to 30 m;Southern British Columbia, Canada to Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico.
