Species Description
Leather-like but smooth, the skin of this seastar is very distinctive. Riddled with red or orange spots. Diameter to 250 mm.
Species Habitat
Feeds on sea anemones, particularly Epiactis prolifera as well as sea cucumbers and sea urchins.
Species Range
Low subtidal to 90 m; Prince William Sound, Alaska to Baja California, Mexico.
