Species Description
Variation 1:Identical in body coloration to Dendrodoris fulvaand Doriopsilla albopunctata except that the rhinophores are the same yellow-orange color as the notum, and are not white as described for those other species. Length to 40 mm.Variation 2:A completely white specimen except for dark purple colored tips on the rhinophores and branchial plumes. Length to 40 mm.Variation 3:With a long and slender body it has a characteristic wavy margin. The coloring is white to pale cream. There are also a number of oddly shaped chocolate brown to maroon blotches. The branchial plume and rhinophores are white to cream colored. Length to 20 mm.
Species Habitat
Feeds on sponges.
Species Range
Low intertidal and subtidal to 45 m; Northern California to Baja California, Mexico.
