Species Description
Length of shell to about 175 mm. Robust shell has heavy sculpturing crossed by thin spiral lines; shell color is white or gray. Animal skin is yellow, mottled with black and white. Operculum with distinct ridges distinguishes from Pomaulax gibberosus (LIGI). Formerly of the genus Lithopoma.
Species Habitat
In kelp beds on rocky and soft bottoms. Formerly Astraea undosa.
Species Range
Low intertidal to subtidal 69 m; Monterey, California to Baja California, Mexico.
