Species Description
This large seastar has white spines surrounded by blue circles. It is an active predator feeding on mussels and other small invertebrates. Diameter to 56 cm.
Species Habitat
Intertidal to subtidal. Rocky and sand bottoms.
Species Range
Occasionally found north of San Francisco, CA to Isla Cedros, Baja California.
