Species Description
The rhinophores each have a yellow tip and red band. The oral tentacles have a red line that connects across the front, and above that is a white line. The white line also runs along the foot. The ceratal cores are brown to black and the cerata are white or gold on the tips followed by a rose-pink band which fades at the base. Size to 50 mm.
Species Habitat
Previously known as Phidiana pugnax. Aggressive species, attacks other nudibranchs.
Species Range
Low intertidal and subtidal to 35 m; Pillar Point, San Mateo County, California to Isla Cedros, Baja California, Mexico.
