Species Description
Any Rhodymenia species. Solid, subconical holdfast with mature thalli that reach 6 to 15 cm. Blade rising from erect thalli and discoid holdfast, deep rose to orange brown in color, irregularly divided, without true stipes or rhizomatous bases.
Species Habitat
Abundant, found growing on rocks and often under Macrocystiscanopy.
Species Range
Subtidal to 40 m; British Columbia, Canada to Baja California, Mexico.
