Species Description
Sampling code = MF##. Numbers denote different size categories. Thick brown branches with white polyps that usually branch in one plane. Height to around 90 cm.
Species Habitat
On reefs, pipelines, wharfs and wrecks. One of the most common gorgonians in California. Able to survive in very polluted waters.
Species Range
Subtidal 15 to 30 m; Point Conception, California to Cedros Island, Baja California, Mexico.
