Species Description
Length to 30 in. Relatively large, with long neck and legs. Overall gray color of dark morph and dark gray legs distinctive, as is pink-based bill of breeding adult.
Species Habitat
Nests and roosts in mixrd colonies. Forages in shallow salt water on expansive mudflats.
