Species Description
Belding's Savannah Sparrow is similar to typical Savannah Sparrows, but darker with heavy blackish streaking overall. Includes subspecies: beldingi.
Species Habitat
Common and widespread in open grassy or weedy habitats, including marshes, fields, and dunes; less numerous in brushy habitat.
Species Range
Year-round resident of California coastline. Breeds throughout Canada and northern United States. Winters in southern United States and Mexico.
