Species Description
Colony forms a white crust that may be several centimeters in diameter. There is a single layer of zooids with a honeycomb appearance.
Species Habitat
Commonly encrusted on floating brown kelp, especially Macrocystis and Cystoseira. Inshore, it can be found on the red alga Gelidium along with other objects such as shells, wood, etc.

Low intertidal to shallow subtidal; Temperate and tropical waters of Indian, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans.
