Species Description
Length 18in, wingspan 28in. Larger, more rounded head than Lesser Scaup with peak of crown farther forward. Rear of crown sloped, and gentle curve at back of neck.
Species Habitat
Common in large flocks on lakes and slatwater bays. Nests in marshy vegetation inor near lakes and ponds.
Species Range
Winters along entire eastern US coast. On west coast from Baja to southern Alaska.
